Neste Provides Sustainable Aviation Fuel for Super Bowl Travelers
Neste Oyj supplied Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for attendees traveling to Super Bowl LVII. The company also collected used cooking oil in conjunction with the event.

Energy company Neste Oyj implemented measures related to the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in conjunction with Super Bowl LVII, held in Phoenix, Arizona, in February 2023.
The company offered SAF to private jets transporting attendees to and from the event. SAF can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional fossil jet fuel. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) estimates SAF could account for 65% of aviation's emissions reductions needed to reach net zero by 2050.
As part of the event's logistics, Neste also collected used cooking oil from vendors operating in the stadium's parking lot. The collected oil was used as a raw material for Neste's renewable products, utilizing its subsidiary Mahoney Environmental.
Reducing transportation emissions, particularly in aviation, is a key aspect of the industry's climate goals. Neste is focused on increasing its SAF production capacity and promoting its adoption through strategic partnerships.
