Neste Supplies Renewable Diesel for PETRONAS Formula 1 Freight

Finnish company Neste is supplying renewable diesel (also known as HVO100) to PETRONAS to power the freight transport for the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team across Europe. This initiative aims to significantly lower the carbon footprint associated with the team's logistics throughout the racing season.

The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team and its logistics partners are targeting a reduction of 200 tons of CO2 over nine European races. The team's fleet of trucks, responsible for transporting race equipment, will run entirely on renewable diesel for their journeys, estimated to cover 9,000 to 10,000 kilometers. The use of Neste's renewable diesel can achieve life cycle greenhouse gas emission reductions of up to 90% compared to fossil diesel.

This collaboration aligns with Neste's strategic goal to assist customers in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by at least 20 million tons annually by 2030. Neste MY Renewable Diesel is produced from 100% renewable raw materials and functions as a drop-in fuel, requiring no modifications to existing engines or infrastructure, offering an immediate lower-emission solution.

Distribution of the renewable diesel to PETRONAS will be managed by Neste's German distribution partner, TOOL-FUEL Services. This partnership between the Formula 1 team, Neste, and TOOL-FUEL Services signifies a commitment to advancing more sustainable, lower-emission mobility solutions that are currently available.
