Neste to supply sustainable aviation fuel to three major U.S. airlines
Finnish company Neste will supply sustainable aviation fuel to three major U.S. airlines, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, and JetBlue Airways, via San Francisco International Airport. The fuel will help the airlines meet their climate goals.

Neste, a leading producer of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from waste and residue raw materials, is now supplying SAF to Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, and JetBlue Airways. The fuel is being delivered via San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
The low-carbon, high-quality fuel will support the airlines' climate targets. Neste is delivering the SAF to SFO through a pipeline, a first for the airport. The three airlines are the first major U.S. carriers to commit to using Neste's SAF at SFO, with initial deliveries occurring in recent weeks.
Neste's SAF is made from sustainably sourced waste and residue materials and can be used as a drop-in fuel in existing aircraft and airport infrastructure. It reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% over its lifecycle compared to conventional jet fuel. Neste joined a broader agreement in 2018 with SFO, airlines, and fuel producers to increase SAF usage.
Neste aims to have an annual SAF production capacity of 1.5 million tonnes by 2023 and has committed to making its production operations carbon neutral by 2035.
