Neste's campaigns recognized at international communications awards
Neste's 'The Ham Trick' campaign and EduCycle learning game have received awards at European communications and marketing competitions. The Ham Trick was recognized for its circular economy initiative, and EduCycle for its creative data use.

Energy company Neste Oyj has been recognized at two international communications and marketing competitions. The company's 'The Ham Trick' campaign, which demonstrates circular economy principles, won gold at the European Excellence Awards for best communications initiative in the energy industry. Additionally, the campaign secured a bronze award at the Eurobest awards in the PR category for automotive and transport products and services.
Neste's EduCycle learning game, developed using augmented reality, also received a bronze award at Eurobest in the Creative Data category. The game aims to illustrate how individual choices impact the climate and environment, encouraging reductions in carbon dioxide emissions to align with Paris Agreement targets.
"The prizes are an excellent form of recognition and proof that the campaigns really interest people. 'The Ham Trick' is being organized again this year, and the best prize of all would be for as many people as possible to take part in this practical demonstration of circular economy. Last year, the campaign's proceeds were donated to charity, and that will be done this year as well," said Kaisa Lipponen, Director of Corporate Communications at Neste.
Several partners were involved in the 2016 'The Ham Trick' campaign, including the Federation of Finnish Chemical Industries, K-Group, and Lassila & Tikanoja. The EduCycle game was developed as part of the Pre-order the Future project in collaboration with advertising agency TBWA\Helsinki and is now used in schools in several countries.
