Nestlé Recalls Baby Food Products in Germany Over Potential Contamination

Nestlé Deutschland AG has initiated a precautionary recall for certain batches of its BEBA and Alfamino baby food products available in Germany. The affected products include specific lines such as BEBA expert HA, BEBA expert Comfort+, BEBA supreme, and BEBA AR. This action is being taken in close coordination with German regulatory authorities.

The reason for the recall is the potential presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the microorganism Bacillus Cereus, identified in one of the ingredients used in the affected batches. Nestlé has emphasized that no illnesses or symptoms related to the consumption of these products have been confirmed to date. The company stated the recall is a precautionary measure, adhering to their stringent quality and safety standards.

Consumers who have purchased the affected products, identified by specific batch numbers and best-before dates, are advised to discontinue use and return the items to the point of purchase for a full refund, even without a receipt. Nestlé recommends that parents with health concerns regarding their children consult a pediatrician or medical professional.

Nestlé has set up a consumer service hotline to address any questions or concerns related to the recall. The company apologized for any inconvenience caused and assured that all other Nestlé products and unaffected batches of the recalled products are safe for consumption.
