Nestlé to acquire full ownership of food brand yfood
Nestlé has agreed to acquire full ownership of yfood Labs GmbH, a Germany-based smart food company, to accelerate its international expansion.
Nestlé S.A. has agreed to acquire full ownership of yfood Labs GmbH, a company focused on nutritionally complete drinks, powders, and bars. The transaction is intended to significantly accelerate yfood's growth strategy and support its entry into new markets.
yfood currently sells its products in 30 countries through a direct-to-consumer model and a retail presence across 18 European markets. The company generated sales of approximately €150 million in fiscal year 2025, reporting double-digit year-on-year growth.
Nestlé previously held a 49% minority stake in yfood since 2023. The full ownership will enable Nestlé to leverage its global infrastructure and distribution network to speed up yfood's expansion. The company's founders and co-CEOs, Benjamin Kremer and Noel Bollmann, will transition leadership to Nestlé executive Jolanda Schwirtz.
The acquisition is subject to customary regulatory and antitrust approvals. yfood will continue to operate as an independent company headquartered in Munich, maintaining its brand identity and strategic direction. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
