Chinese technology company NetEase has launched the initial technical testing phase for its life simulation game, "Shanhai Qilv" (山海奇旅), beginning July 24. This limited, data-gathering "bubble test" is accessible on Android, iOS, and PC platforms.

The game was first revealed as "Code: Qilv" at Gamescom 2024 and received its official Chinese game license in March 2025. The testing phase is now underway, with pre-registration numbers across all platforms exceeding two million, indicating significant player interest.

"Shanhai Qilv" is set on Fuying Island, a floating landmass above the clouds. Players assume the role of an "administrator," tasked with building and customizing their island's terrain, cultivating special crops, and capturing mystical creatures. The game is developed by NetEase's Hujian division and operated by Hangzhou NetEase Leihuo Technology.

The primary objective of this test is to validate the stability of the game's core systems. The development team is actively collecting feedback from participants to identify bugs and refine gameplay mechanics. Selected players may also have their suggestions considered for in-game implementation. NetEase plans to organize a larger follow-up test soon to accommodate the high demand from players who could not participate in the initial round.
