NetEase has officially launched the console version of its free-to-play online survival game "Once Human" internationally on August 26, 2026. The game is now available for download on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

The announcement was made during Gamescom's "Opening Night Live" event. "Once Human" is an open-world survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world, where players explore, build bases, and combat enemies using supernatural "anomalous substances."

The console release introduces several key features, including the ability to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives at will. Additionally, the game supports cross-platform multiplayer and progress synchronization, allowing PC, mobile, and console players to team up and share their game data seamlessly.

The game also features deep integration with the PlayStation 5's DualSense controller, offering detailed haptic feedback and adaptive trigger resistance for various in-game actions. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will receive exclusive benefits.

Alongside the console launch, NetEase also revealed its largest content update to date, "The Living Ocean," scheduled for release on all platforms in October 2026.
