Chinese tech giant Netease has revealed the first trailer and actual gameplay for its upcoming title, 'Shadow of the Hidden Blade.' The game, previously known as "Guǐyǐng Cángfēng," received its domestic online game license in May. Developed by Netease LeiHuo studio, it's a first-person "search, shoot, retreat" game set in Chinese mythology and folk tales.

The game places players in a bizarre world of Eastern folklore, tasking them with searching for treasures, solving puzzles, and confronting malevolent spirits, all with the goal of finding an exit before time runs out. 'Shadow of the Hidden Blade' is built using the Unreal Engine 5. The game supports both a three-player team mode and solo play.

Netease has initiated the first phase of recruitment for a limited, closed, and data-wiping test, scheduled to commence on August 7. The PC version of the game will be tested via the official website. Plans for testing on the Steam platform will be announced later. Those who add the game to their Steam wishlist now will receive an exclusive "Golden Mansion" peach wood sword skin.

Further details on the game's content and narrative were showcased in the trailer and gameplay footage, highlighting its visual style and mechanics. 'Shadow of the Hidden Blade' aims to offer a distinctive experience by blending exploration, combat, and survival within a mystical Chinese setting.
