NetEase's 'Ni Shui Han' Wins National Science and Technology Award
NetEase announced that its game 'Ni Shui Han' has received a national award for its AI-driven digital human technology, developed in collaboration with Zhejiang University.

Chinese gaming giant NetEase has been awarded the "National Science and Technology Progress Award – Second Class" for its project "Key Technologies and Applications of Intelligent 3D Digital Human Production," developed in collaboration with Zhejiang University. The award ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the People on July 8.
The project's development was significantly supported by NetEase's online game "Ni Shui Han" (also known as Justice), which served as a core research and verification platform. The game has been instrumental in the industrial-scale implementation of AI-driven 3D digital human technology within the gaming sector.
As of now, "Ni Shui Han" features over 40 million AI-powered characters. The game allows players to create and define these AI entities, assigning them unique life stories and characteristics. Player-generated content through the "AI Movie Studio" mode has also reached nearly 20 million items, enabling users to generate new actions and assets via text commands.
Further demonstrating the AI integration, the "Wind Flower Small Courtyard" simulation gameplay has generated over 20 million "special interactions." NetEase has previously received other science and technology accolades. The company stated its commitment to further integrating advanced AI technology with its game frameworks to explore future open-world concepts.
