Netflix releases trailer for Brad Bird's upcoming film Ray Gunn

Netflix has released the official trailer for director Brad Bird's upcoming animated film, Ray Gunn. The movie, described as a neo-noir science fiction mystery, is set to premiere on the streaming service in December.

Bird, known for acclaimed animated features such as The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille, has reportedly been developing Ray Gunn for three decades. The script was co-written by Matthew Robbins.

The trailer showcases retro-futuristic elements including flying cars, jetpacks, laser guns, and aliens. Bird has cited film noir and hard-boiled detective stories as key inspirations for the project.

Bird has described the film as "film noir and a hard-boiled detective story, but it’s got a lot more comedy and a lot more action than the average film noir."
