Netflix has significantly expanded its use of artificial intelligence (AI) in content production, with generative AI now integrated into over 300 titles. The company stated that AI workflows are accelerating and reducing costs, particularly in post-production and the creation of complex visual effects.

Co-CEO Ted Sarandos explained that AI tools are being employed across the entire creative process, from conception to final delivery. "Gen AI is scaling quickly across the entire creative process," he said. AI has been instrumental in producing footage for the documentary series 'American Experiment,' where 17 minutes of AI-enhanced material were created substantially faster and at a lower cost than previous methods.

Sarandos, however, clarified that AI is not intended to replace filmmakers but rather to provide them with enhanced tools to bring their visions to life. Any cost savings generated by AI are expected to be reinvested into producing more content for the service.

Alongside AI advancements, Netflix is focusing on its cloud gaming business. The number of monthly active players for cloud games has increased elevenfold since the service's expansion last October. The company highlighted a threefold growth in daily players for children's games via the Netflix Playground app.

Co-CEO Gregory Peters described cloud gaming as a substantial opportunity, although it still represents a small portion of Netflix's overall content budget. The company plans to continue refining its investments based on member engagement and business returns.
