Netnod Invests in Network Upgrades and Lower Entry Costs for ISPs
Swedish internet exchange point operator Netnod is upgrading its network infrastructure and expanding its services. The company is focusing on making its peering network more accessible to smaller internet providers.
Netnod, a Swedish provider of internet infrastructure services, has continued to invest in its network throughout 2013. The company has upgraded its switch platform in Stockholm, enabling the provision of more cost-effective 100 Gigabit Ethernet ports with higher density.
Beyond Stockholm, Netnod is extending its reach by offering more affordable connectivity options for smaller Internet Service Providers (ISPs). This initiative aims to integrate smaller players into Netnod's peering fabric, granting them access to content and the opportunity to connect with major network operators in the region.
The company is also enhancing its DNSNODE platform, which offers DNS services globally. New feature sets are being developed to provide users with advanced analytics for DNS queries and traffic patterns, accessible via APIs.
