Netnod launches services to enhance network connectivity value

Netnod, an operator of Internet Exchange points (IX) in the Nordics, has launched new services designed to enhance the value derived from network connections for its customers. The company aims to simplify the management of these connections and offer a broader range of services over a single physical port.

According to Netnod, connecting to an IX offers networks benefits such as increased capacity, lower latency, and faster scalability for local traffic, thereby reducing reliance on expensive transit providers. Flexible connection options, including remote peering, allow networks to expand into new regions cost-effectively.

The new offerings include Remote IX, enabling remote peering at other Netnod IX locations in Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. A new cooperation with AMS-IX further extends reach by providing direct connectivity to the Amsterdam IX, facilitating traffic exchange with over 860 networks and nearly 12 Tbps of traffic.

Netnod also provides a Closed User Group service for private and controlled traffic exchange with specific partners, and Netnod Time Direct for precise time synchronization delivered over the network connection with high accuracy. All these services and connection details are managed centrally through the Netnod Customer Portal.

With the introduction of Netnod One Port, Netnod consolidates these services for delivery over a single physical connection. This initiative is intended to significantly simplify administration for clients, enable faster provisioning, and maximize the value customers receive from their Netnod IX connections.
