Neurimmune Sells Royalty Interest in Cliramitug to Royalty Pharma
Neurimmune has sold a portion of its royalty interest in cliramitug to Royalty Pharma for up to $425 million, securing non-dilutive funding for its R&D pipeline.

Swiss biopharmaceutical company Neurimmune announced Wednesday it has sold a portion of its royalty interest in the drug candidate cliramitug to Royalty Pharma for up to $425 million. The transaction includes an upfront payment of $125 million and is intended to provide Neurimmune with non-dilutive funding for its internal research and development programs.
Cliramitug, formerly known as NI006, is a human monoclonal antibody discovered by Neurimmune. It is designed to deplete amyloid deposits in patients with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). Neurimmune licensed the asset exclusively to Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease, in 2022. Alexion is responsible for the ongoing clinical development, manufacturing, and commercialization of cliramitug, including a Phase 3 trial.
Under the terms of the deal, Royalty Pharma will provide Neurimmune with a total of up to $425 million. This includes the initial $125 million, another $125 million in the first quarter of 2027, and up to $175 million contingent on reaching certain clinical and regulatory milestones. In return, Royalty Pharma will receive a royalty ranging from 3% to 4% on worldwide net sales of cliramitug.
Neurimmune focuses on developing antibody therapeutics for diseases caused by protein aggregation. The company's pipeline includes other candidates targeting conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
