Neuros Medical ALTIUS System Granted Medicare Pass-Through Payment Status

Neuros Medical has received notification from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) that its ALTIUS system will be eligible for transitional pass-through payment under the 2027 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Payment System. This regulatory designation facilitates reimbursement for the technology used to manage chronic post-amputation pain in adult patients.

By granting this status, Medicare aims to address the financial hurdles often associated with the adoption of new medical devices in outpatient and surgical settings. The decision specifically targets the ALTIUS system, which provides an alternative treatment pathway for individuals suffering from nerve-related pain following lower limb amputation.

The inclusion of this technology in the 2027 payment rule is expected to increase clinical accessibility for patients previously limited by payment barriers. The company intends to leverage this status to expand the reach of its pain management solutions as the 2027 implementation date approaches.
