Neustar Opens Registration for 6-Digit Common Short Codes
The Common Short Code Administration has opened registration for 6-digit codes, significantly increasing the number of available codes for business-to-consumer communication.

The Common Short Code Administration (CSCA) has announced the opening of registration for 6-digit Common Short Code (CSC) numbers on its website, www.USshortcodes.com. CSCs enable direct communication between businesses and consumers via mobile devices.
The introduction of the 6-digit format, in addition to the existing 5-digit options, represents a tenfold increase in the availability of codes. This expansion broadens the scope for CSCs in direct interaction services, including consumer voting, marketing campaigns, content downloads, text alerts, and bill payments.
Managed by Neustar Inc. in coordination with CTIA – The Wireless Association®, the initiative aims to provide businesses with enhanced capabilities to establish direct relationships with mobile consumers, regardless of their device or service provider.
The registration process has been streamlined on the updated website. Businesses seeking to utilize a CSC must register at www.USshortcodes.com to obtain a unique code.
