New BMW X5 to be offered in gasoline and fully electric versions

BMW has unveiled official images of its next-generation X5 SUV, confirming plans to offer the model with both internal combustion and fully electric powertrains. The new X5 is slated for market introduction in 2027.

The exterior design adopts BMW's latest design language, featuring cleaner surfaces and enhanced aerodynamics. The vehicle incorporates new dynamic digital LED lighting units, integrating daytime running lights and low beams into a single design element. Customers will have a choice between two distinct light graphics, one aligning with the brand's new-generation aesthetic and the other emphasizing the X family identity.

Inside, the updated X5 features BMW's latest intelligent cockpit, complete with a panorama display and advanced interactive technologies in the center console. A notable addition is a passenger-side entertainment screen, with AI-driven intelligent features and a digital entertainment ecosystem specifically tailored for the Chinese market.

For powertrains, the gasoline version will be equipped with the fourth-generation B58 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine, delivering 294 kW and 580 Nm of torque. The fully electric variant will be built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform utilizing large-diameter cylindrical batteries, promising a CLTC range exceeding 1000 kilometers. Both versions are expected to show performance and efficiency improvements over their predecessors.
