New Building at Johanniter Hospital Officially Opened

The Johanniter Hospital in Stendal has officially opened its new Building D in a ceremony attended by the supreme representative of the Johanniter Order, Prince Oskar von Preußen, alongside numerous political and societal figures.

The completion of the building in late 2021 signifies the conclusion of the comprehensive structural renovation of the Johanniter Hospital, which began in 1994. The new structure spans five levels, housing wards with spacious patient rooms, advanced examination and functional areas, and the latest medical technology. The relocation of the Women's and Children's Clinic to this building centralizes all hospital departments at a single location.

The investment of approximately 45 million euros, with 15 million euros provided by the state of Saxony-Anhalt, has facilitated the creation of a modern healthcare environment. Additionally, a playground for young patients has been completed thanks to support from regional sponsors.

Building D comprises 196 beds and offers a net floor area of approximately 12,500 square meters across its first four levels. The facility includes an intensive care unit, a maternity ward, and departments for cardiology and geriatrics, among others.
