New Data Platform Tracks Global Financial Flows

One Data, part of the non-profit One Campaign, has released the Development Finance Observatory, a new data platform supported by Google.org and the Rockefeller Foundation's RF Catalytic Capital.

The platform aims to make tracking and analyzing global financial flows more accessible. Users can access data from various sources and perform analyses using plain language, such as comparing countries' debt payments adjusted for inflation. Previously, such analyses required significant time and resources.

Built on Google's Data Commons, the Development Finance Observatory integrates over 90 financial and development datasets, encompassing 100,000 indicators. The goal is to provide a faster method for understanding where money is moving and where it might be lost.

Additionally, One Data is releasing AI agent skills to aid navigation and data analysis on the platform. The company suggests this tool can reduce a process that once took months and multiple people to mere minutes, thereby enabling more efficient decision-making.
