Users can act as "Matchers," reviewing potential pairs and recommending introductions. Pairs receiving high "Social Matching" scores are then presented to each other, with both individuals independently deciding whether to initiate a conversation. Rivet has secured $10.5 million in seed funding from investors including Peak XV Partners, Shine Capital, and Blume Ventures. The company's premise is that human intuition is superior to algorithms in recognizing chemistry and compatibility. The "give-to-get" model encourages users to help others find love and meaningful relationships.

Data from a commissioned survey suggests a significant interest among young adults in anonymously helping others find romantic partners. Rivet seeks to provide an alternative to the often isolating and overwhelming experience of using traditional dating apps. The app is available for download on iOS and Android devices.
