New Episodes of Rural Cooking Show to Premiere in August
German broadcaster SWR will launch a new season of its "Lecker aufs Land" cooking show in August. Six women will travel across the countryside, competing with three-course meals.

SWR, a German public broadcaster, is set to premiere a new season of its popular cooking show, "Lecker aufs Land" (Deliciously Rural), on August 9, 2017. The program follows six women living in rural areas as they travel through the German states of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate in a vintage bus. In each episode, one participant hosts the others, presenting a three-course meal prepared using local and homegrown ingredients.
Each menu is evaluated by the participants, with the best cook being determined at the end of the season. The inaugural episode will take place in the Heilbronner Land region, where participant Anja Kurz will showcase her culinary skills. Subsequent episodes will journey to Westerwald, Rheinhessen, the Black Forest, the Eifel region, and Hegau. The show will air Tuesdays at 8:15 PM on SWR.
All episodes of "Lecker aufs Land" will be available on demand in the SWR media library starting at 4 PM on the day before their television broadcast. Recipes featured in the show are also published on the SWR website. The series has been broadcast annually since 2011 and has become a staple of the broadcaster's summer programming.
The program offers viewers a glimpse into the culinary traditions and regional specialties of the German countryside, while also highlighting the participants' personalities and their connection to food and local produce.
