New High-Speed Train Features 30W Wireless Charging

China's new generation CR400AF-X "Fuxing" intelligent high-speed train has entered service, bringing enhanced wireless charging capabilities to passengers. The trains are equipped with 30W wireless charging, utilizing China's domestically developed UFCS (Unified Fast Charging Specification) standard.

The initial deployment sees these trains operating on key routes, including the Beijing South to Hangzhou East line. The UFCS standard offers a significant speed increase compared to previous wireless charging solutions in public spaces, which were often limited to below 15W. With the new 30W capability, a smartphone's battery can be charged from 10% to approximately 60% in about half an hour.

The UFCS standard was developed through collaboration led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) along with major tech companies such as Huawei, OPPO, vivo, and Honor. The initiative aims to ensure compatibility across different brands of devices and improve user experience in public charging environments.

This advancement in wireless charging is expected to expand to other public facilities like subways, restaurants, and waiting areas in the future. Several smartphone models supporting UFCS are slated for release by the end of the year, promising a more convenient charging experience for travelers.
