New Huanggang Border Crossing in Shenzhen Opens
The new Huanggang border crossing between Shenzhen and Hong Kong officially opened on October 12. The new facility utilizes an "joint inspection, one-time release" model, significantly reducing transit times.

The new Huanggang border crossing between Shenzhen and Hong Kong officially commenced operations on October 12. This new crossing point employs a "joint inspection, one-time release" model, designed to expedite passenger flow between the two regions.
The model places Chinese and Hong Kong inspection facilities side-by-side within their respective jurisdictions. Passengers using the automated channels will only need to queue, present documents, and have their identity verified once to complete exit and entry procedures for both sides. The total transit time is expected to be reduced from approximately 30 minutes to around 5 minutes.
To support the new crossing, Hong Kong has introduced seven franchised bus routes and six public light bus routes. These services connect the new Huanggang port to various districts across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories, facilitating onward travel.
The opening of the new Huanggang crossing also signifies the end of the shuttle bus service between the former Lok Ma Chau and Huanggang crossings, which operated for nearly 30 years. Travelers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and check the schedules for the new public transport links.
