New Jersey Innovation Institute Achieves CMMC Level 2 Certification
New Jersey Innovation Institute has secured CMMC Level 2 certification, verifying its compliance with federal cybersecurity standards for handling defense-related information.

The New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) has successfully obtained Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2. This milestone validates that the organization meets the 110 security requirements outlined in NIST Special Publication 800-171, a prerequisite for handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) for government and defense contracts.
The certification process involved a comprehensive audit of the institute's cybersecurity framework, covering areas such as risk management, access control, incident response, and asset protection. As cyber threats against the defense supply chain become increasingly complex, the certification establishes NJII as a qualified partner for highly regulated environments.
Interim President Jennifer D'Angelo noted that the certification reflects the organization's focus on maintaining secure operations in support of national security objectives. With this credential, NJII plans to expand its advisory and operational support for organizations requiring assistance with cybersecurity compliance and secure digital transformation.
