New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Launched in China with Advanced Driver Assistance
The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class sedan has been launched in China starting at 1.398 million yuan. The vehicle features the updated MB.OS system and advanced driver assistance capabilities.
Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the new generation Mercedes-Maybach S-Class sedan in the Chinese market on September 25. The vehicle comes with a starting price of 1.398 million yuan (approximately $193,000 USD), with prices for different trims ranging up to 3.353 million yuan ($464,000 USD) for the S 680 model.
The new models are equipped with Mercedes-Benz's MB.OS architecture and the latest generation human-machine interaction system. This system utilizes a local multimodal VLM large model and incorporates an advanced intelligent driver assistance system. Future updates will be delivered via Over-The-Air (OTA) remote upgrades.
The flagship model will also integrate the Momenta R7 world model, positioning it as one of the first luxury internal combustion engine vehicles to feature such advanced technology, with further enhancements planned through OTA updates.
Design updates include a more distinctive front grille with an illuminated "MAYBACH" lettering and a lit star emblem on the hood. The interior boasts an upgraded wrap-around cockpit design, featuring a 14.4-inch central display and a 12.3-inch passenger display at the front. Rear passengers benefit from dual 13.1-inch HD displays.
The lineup offers three powertrain options for the Chinese market, including continued availability of the V12 engine. The new M177 Evo V8 high-performance engine delivers a maximum output of 450 kW + 17 kW and a peak torque of 850 Nm + 205 Nm.
