New Nintendo DS emulator SeedlessDS launched for Android
A new Nintendo DS emulator, SeedlessDS, has been released in beta. The software is primarily designed for dual-screen Android handhelds and is optimized for weaker hardware.

Chinese technology outlet IT Home reported on August 8 that SeedlessDS, a new emulator for the Nintendo DS, has been released. Version 1.0.0-beta1 is now available. The emulator is designed specifically for dual-screen Android handheld devices and has been optimized for improved performance on less powerful hardware.
SeedlessDS is a lightweight fork of the WatermelonDS emulator, focusing on enhancing performance on less capable devices. Technically, SeedlessDS utilizes the DraStic r2.6.0.4a core and the libdrastic_bridge.so interface. Display output is handled through an EGL-based dual-panel rendering path.
The software currently supports only the arm64-v8a architecture and requires a minimum of Android 5.0. The user interface has been rebuilt using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, adhering to Material 3 design guidelines.
The emulator fully supports gamepad input. The main screen allows games to be categorized by all projects, favorites, DS, and DSiWare. Users can remap gamepad buttons and utilize instant save functionality with screenshots. SeedlessDS is compatible with NDS, DSi, SRL, and IDS file formats.
