New Tech Automotive launches AI scanner for car body damage and alignment
Shanghai-based New Tech Automotive Technology has introduced an AI-powered scanner to detect damage and alignment issues in car bodies. The technology aims to provide speed and precision in vehicle inspections.

New Tech Automotive Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered scanner designed to detect damage and structural misalignment in vehicle bodies. The technology offers dealerships, inspection centers, and fleet operators instant, objective damage assessment.
The system utilizes AI and structured light projection to identify exterior damage, dents, scratches, and panel inconsistencies with millimeter-level accuracy. This approach aims to replace subjective manual inspections with automated, data-driven evaluations.
According to the company, the 4-in-1 system can assess exterior damage, underbody structure, tire tread depth, and tire sidewall condition. It is designed for a drive-through inspection that takes seconds, potentially reducing inspection time and costs by up to 70%.
The technology is being promoted for use in the used car market and insurance claims processing, where speed and accuracy in damage reporting are critical. The generation of digital reports is intended to support transparent, data-driven decision-making.
