New Tools Whorl and Flux 3 Simplify Visual Content Creation

Fast Company has introduced two new tools, Whorl and Flux 3, designed to simplify the creation of unique visual content. Whorl focuses on producing animated 3D graphics, while Flux 3 generates short video clips using artificial intelligence.

Whorl allows users to create and customize moving 3D shapes for posters, social media graphics, and websites. The tool enables users to start with templates or a blank slate, adjusting aspect ratio, color palette, shapes, and 3D effects. According to developer Remon Tijssen, the web-based application offers more extensive customization options compared to its previous iOS app.

Flux 3, developed by Black Forest Labs, facilitates the creation of short videos through AI. Users can begin with a text prompt or upload images to serve as starting and ending frames. Videos can be up to 20 seconds long, with the option to add audio. Filmmaker Martin Scorsese has served as an advisor for the tool's development, emphasizing its potential for sharing visual concepts.

Both Whorl and Flux 3 aim to lower the barrier for creating visual content for users who may not possess traditional design or technical skills. Whorl provides an environment for experimenting with customizable graphics, while Flux 3 is suitable for generating short, narrative videos for presentations or art projects. The tools offer free trial periods, after which usage continues with paid subscriptions.
