Cable manufacturer Nexans has reported strong performance in its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts for 2023, receiving notable recognition from key independent ESG rating agencies. The company highlighted that its commitment to integrating sustainability across its operations is yielding positive results.
Globally recognized rating agencies have affirmed Nexans' standing. MSCI ESG Ratings awarded the company an 'A' rating, signifying its robust management of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks. Furthermore, Nexans maintained its Platinum Medal status from EcoVadis with a score of 80/100, placing it among the top 1% of rated companies. Its score from Ethifinance also improved to 74/100.
These acknowledgments underscore Nexans' strategy to embed sustainability throughout its business. The company plans to continue focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and developing advanced solutions for a low-carbon economy. This includes ongoing projects like the Celtic Interconnector cable project between France and Ireland and support for renewable energy initiatives such as the Noor Atlas solar project in Morocco.
Nexans also emphasized its engagement with suppliers to advance climate roadmaps and meet evolving regulatory and stakeholder expectations for responsible business practices.
