Nexans Digitalizes Global Manufacturing Operations with Industry 4.0 Platform

Nexans, a global leader in the cable industry, is accelerating its Industry 4.0 transformation by digitalizing its worldwide manufacturing operations. The company has implemented the Fabriq platform to standardize its performance management and embed operational discipline into daily shopfloor routines, covering 40 plants across key markets including Europe and North America.

This digital transformation shifts operations from manual, disconnected processes to integrated digital systems. The goal is to enable real-time decision-making, faster problem resolution, and consistent application of best practices across the global manufacturing network. This move replaces traditional physical whiteboards with digital tools for enhanced visibility and quicker knowledge sharing between sites.

The Fabriq platform digitalizes and enhances Nexans' existing operational standards, acting as the technical backbone for shopfloor performance and daily discipline. It provides real-time performance indicators on interactive digital boards, offering visibility from individual teams to group level. The platform also supports structured problem-solving with clear escalation paths and historical tracking of resolved issues.

Following a pilot phase at the Autun plant in France, the solution has been rolled out to other facilities, including Charleston in the United States. Nexans anticipates improvements in safety and quality metrics, increased operational responsiveness, better team communication, and enhanced operator engagement as a result of this transformation.
