Nexans Digitalizes Manufacturing Operations Across 40 Plants with Fabriq Platform

Cable manufacturer Nexans is strengthening its operational performance across its global manufacturing network through a systematic Industry 4.0 transformation. The company has deployed the Fabriq platform to digitalize its performance management standard and embed operational discipline into daily shopfloor routines.

This transformation covers 40 plants in key markets including Europe and North America. The shift from manual, disconnected processes to integrated digital systems enables real-time decision-making, faster problem-solving, and consistent application of best practices across the global manufacturing network.

Nexans recognized that accelerating its Industry 4.0 journey required not just new technology, but a rethinking of how plants manage performance daily. The deployment of the Fabriq platform digitalizes and scales the company's previously proven daily routines, such as shift handovers and equipment startup procedures. The platform provides real-time data and facilitates faster cross-site learning.

The digital approach replaces static whiteboards with interactive digital daily boards displaying performance indicators in real time. The platform also supports faster problem resolution through clear escalation paths and documented lessons learned. Nexans initiated the transformation's pilot phase at its Autun plant in France and has since expanded it to other sites, including Charleston in the United States.
