Nexans integrates cable products into Building Information Modeling
Nexans has integrated its cable products into Building Information Modeling (BIM) in partnership with BIMobject, aiming to optimize their inclusion in construction projects from the design phase.

Cable manufacturer Nexans has integrated its product portfolio into Building Information Modeling (BIM), becoming the first in its industry to offer this capability. The move aims to streamline the integration of electrical infrastructure in construction projects.
Through a new partnership with BIMobject, a global marketplace for construction industry data, Nexans will provide architects and engineers with detailed 3D models of its cables and cable systems. These digital objects will include technical specifications, installation guidelines, energy usage data, and environmental information.
By incorporating Nexans' products early in the design phase, the company expects to enhance the optimization of electrical installations, thereby increasing safety and reliability throughout a building's lifecycle. This initiative aligns with Nexans' broader strategy to focus on electrification and deliver sustainable cabling solutions.
The construction sector faces significant growth, with an estimated 230 billion square meters of new buildings expected by 2060. Nexans' BIM integration is positioned to meet the increasing demand for efficient and digitalized building solutions.
