Nexans, a global leader in cable systems, announced proposed changes to its Board of Directors. The board will recommend to shareholders at the May 16, 2024 meeting the renewal of Jane Basson's tenure as an independent director. Additionally, the board will propose the appointment of Tamara de Gruyter as a new independent director, succeeding Sylvie Jéhanno.

Jéhanno is leaving the board due to increasing external commitments. De Gruyter, who has been appointed as a Censor with immediate effect, will attend all board meetings and adhere to the same obligations as directors. She currently serves as President Portfolio Business and is a member of the executive board at Wärtsilä.

The European Works Council has also appointed Elisabetta Iaconantonio, a General Accounting Specialist at Nexans' Pioltello site in Italy, as a director representing employees. She will succeed Bjorn Erik Nyborg in this role.

Jean Mouton, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Nexans, expressed enthusiasm for de Gruyter's appointment, citing her international background and expertise in the digital industry as valuable assets. He also extended thanks to Jéhanno and Nyborg for their contributions to the company.
