Nexans reports 2025 sustainability progress

Nexans, a global player in electrification, has published its 2025 Sustainability Highlights report. The report outlines the company's progress in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas, with a particular focus on climate action and circularity.

The company reported a 49% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared to its baseline year. Additionally, Scope 3 emissions, which relate to the value chain, saw a 40% reduction. These achievements align with Nexans' long-term objective of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050, in accordance with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments.

In its pursuit of a circular economy, Nexans processed over 95,000 tons of recycled raw materials, including copper, aluminum, and polymers, in 2025. The company is also investing €90 million in the Nexans Continuous Casting & Recycling (NCCCR) project, which is expected to process up to 80,000 tons of recycled copper annually. This initiative aims to enhance supply resilience for its key materials and reduce reliance on primary resources.

Nexans also highlighted progress in its social and governance priorities. In 2025, women held 29.2% of management roles within the electrification perimeter, reflecting a commitment to inclusive leadership. The company further engaged approximately 600 strategic suppliers to promote responsible and ethical business practices across its supply chain.

The 2025 Sustainability Highlights illustrate Nexans' E3 operating model, which integrates Environment, Economy, and Engagement. The report provides further details on the company's sustainability commitments and overall ESG performance, available on its official website.
