Electrical cable manufacturer Nexans has signed agreements with the Moroccan government to establish a new medium-voltage cable factory in the country, involving an investment of €100 million by 2026. The project is expected to create over 200 jobs.

French electrical cable manufacturer Nexans has signed two protocols of agreement with the Moroccan government to establish a new medium-voltage cable production facility in the country. The investment totals €100 million, with the factory slated for completion by 2026.
This new facility will be Nexans' third in Morocco, where the company has been present for over 75 years, with existing plants in Casablanca and Mohammedia. The project aims to support the energy transition in Morocco and across the African continent.
The investment is expected to generate more than 200 direct jobs. Nexans stated the factory will integrate its latest digital and innovation standards for sustainable energy resources. The company also highlighted Morocco's role as a regional leader in renewable energy infrastructure deployment.
The agreements were signed with multiple Moroccan ministries, including Industry and Trade, Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, and Investment, Convergence and Public Policy Evaluation, along with the National Office of Electricity and Potable Water (ONEE) and the Moroccan Agency for Development of Investment and Export (AMDIE).
