Nexans to Build New Cable Plant in Morocco for €100 Million
Cable manufacturer Nexans has signed agreements with the Moroccan government to invest €100 million in a new medium-voltage cable plant. The project aims to support the regional energy transition and create over 200 jobs.

Cable manufacturer Nexans has signed two memorandums of understanding with the Moroccan government to establish a new medium-voltage cable plant in the country. The total investment for the project is €100 million, with the plant expected to be operational by 2026. This will be Nexans' third facility in Morocco.
The initiative is designed to support the energy transition within Morocco and across Africa. The new plant is projected to generate more than 200 direct jobs. Nexans currently operates two other plants in Morocco, located in Casablanca and Mohammedia. The expansion reinforces the company's commitment to developing renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
Morocco aims to strengthen its industrial ecosystem. This project aligns with broader efforts to develop the renewable energy value chain in the Kingdom and advance local industrial capabilities. Nexans has maintained a presence in Morocco for over 75 years.
Nexans CEO Christopher Guérin highlighted the collaborative nature of the project between public and private entities. He stated that the initiative seeks to achieve ecological and human commitments, unlocking significant economic potential for the African continent.
