Nexans to supply cables for Morocco's Noor Atlas solar project
Nexans has been awarded the Noor Atlas project, which involves supplying cables and power solutions for a network of six solar plants in Morocco. The initiative aims to boost renewable energy generation and local industry.

Paris, France – Nexans, a provider of energy transition solutions, has secured the contract to supply cables and power transformation solutions for Morocco's Noor Atlas solar project. The initiative, led by Masen in collaboration with ONEE and Cluster ENR, marks a significant step in the country's renewable energy expansion.
The Noor Atlas program encompasses the development of six photovoltaic power plants situated across Morocco. These facilities will have a combined installed capacity of approximately 305 MW. Progressive commissioning is expected to begin in 2027, with the project intended to enhance renewable electricity generation, improve power supply in various regions, and support Morocco's national climate and energy objectives.
Beyond its energy contribution, Noor Atlas aligns with Morocco's national energy transition strategy. The project highlights the importance of establishing a robust and sustainable local industrial ecosystem for large-scale infrastructure developments. Nexans Morocco will provide essential cables and power transformation solutions designed to ensure the performance and reliability of the electrical network.
All components supplied for this project will be designed and manufactured locally in Morocco, utilizing the expertise of Nexans' local teams. This "Made in Morocco" approach ensures adherence to high technical standards while fostering the development of the national industrial base and generating long-term economic value.
