NFL Player Azeez Al-Shaair Visits Jordan for Humanitarian Efforts

Azeez Al-Shaair, a linebacker for the NFL's Houston Texans, has completed a week-long humanitarian visit to Jordan with the Human Development Fund (HDF). During his trip, Al-Shaair met with families across the country and participated in a variety of community development projects.

The visit included diverse activities, such as a skills exchange with Jordan's national rugby team, prosthetic fittings for children, and spending time with displaced Syrian families living in desert encampments. HDF is a non-profit organization operating in over 30 countries, providing emergency relief, orphan care, WASH infrastructure, and food distribution, alongside long-term development programs.

He also visited the Suleiman Center, an orphanage co-founded by HDF, which houses fifteen families. Al-Shaair and the HDF team spent time with over half of the households residing there, distributing food, sharing meals, and playing soccer with the children.

Al-Shaair also assisted in fitting new prosthetic limbs for displaced children from Gaza. He met with Syrian families in rural Al Mafraq governorate, hearing directly about their daily lives and sharing meals with them. Raised by a single mother, Al-Shaair reflected on the profound impact of such interactions.
