The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) has signed a SEK 1,500 million, 10-year credit facility agreement with the Municipality of Gävle in Sweden. The financing will support the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant named Atlas.
The project is designed to enhance treatment capacity and ensure compliance with more stringent environmental regulations. The new facility will replace the existing Duvbacken treatment plant, which has been operational since 1967.
Construction will be undertaken by Gävle Vatten AB. The Atlas plant is expected to significantly improve wastewater management in the Gävle region and reduce environmental discharge.
