NIBS CEO George Guszcza Appointed to NIST Construction Safety Committee
George Guszcza, President and CEO of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), has been appointed to the National Construction Safety Team Advisory Committee (NCSTAC).
The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) announced that its President and CEO, George Guszcza, has been appointed to the National Construction Safety Team Advisory Committee (NCSTAC). This federal advisory committee advises the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on its responsibilities under the National Construction Safety Team (NCST) Act.
The NCST Act authorizes investigations into building failures that result in substantial loss of life or significant threats to public safety. The committee's work informs recommendations aimed at improving building practices, codes, standards, and overall public safety nationwide.
Guszcza leads NIBS, a congressionally chartered organization focused on advancing innovation in the built environment and protecting national interests. His career includes senior leadership roles in both public and private sectors, with extensive experience in disaster recovery, infrastructure resilience, and healthcare facilities.
