NICE recommends NHS funding for Bridge to Life's VitaSmart™ perfusion system

The UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has published new guidelines recommending the systematic funding of Bridge to Life Ltd.'s VitaSmart™ oxygenated hypothermic perfusion system by the National Health Service (NHS).

The recommendation follows an evaluation indicating that the VitaSmart™ system improves organ preservation and potentially reduces the risk of transplant failure. The technology allows organs to be maintained in optimal conditions using oxygenated hypothermic perfusion prior to transplantation.

Bridge to Life, a company specializing in organ preservation solutions, has worked with healthcare professionals to develop this technology in response to the growing challenges in organ transplantation. The aim is to enhance patient outcomes and improve the utilization of donor organs.
