Nicole Kidman to Receive 2025 Women In Motion Award

Luxury group Kering and the Cannes Film Festival will present the 2025 Women In Motion Award to actress and producer Nicole Kidman. The award ceremony will take place at the official Women In Motion dinner during the festival.

The award, established in 2015, honors female artists who, through their careers and commitment, promote the role of women in cinema and society. Kidman will return to the festival for the first time since 2017.

Kering Chairman and CEO François-Henri Pinault stated that Kidman was a natural choice for the award's anniversary edition. "Her artistic level, her committed choices, and her concrete actions to change cinematic representations are strongly aligned with what Women In Motion has been promoting for a decade," Pinault said.

Kidman's career is marked by artistic boldness and versatility. She has collaborated with major directors, portraying complex roles in films such as "Eyes Wide Shut" and "The Hours." Through her production company, Blossom Films, she has supported projects like the Emmy-winning "Big Little Lies" and committed to working with female directors regularly.

Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of the Cannes Film Festival, described Kidman as an "actress of immense talent" whose performances have impacted contemporary cinema. Iris Knobloch, President of the Cannes Film Festival, noted that Kidman's work, particularly her collaborations with nearly twenty female directors, has provided visibility for women storytellers.

Women In Motion, launched by Kering in 2015, celebrates women driving artistic creation. The program marks its tenth anniversary in 2025, highlighting its ongoing commitment to gender equality in arts and culture.
