Nigerian startup Live Intervals has launched a new platform focused on enhancing personal security by transitioning safety measures from reactive to proactive. Founded in May by Njeze Okechukwu, the service utilizes an "automated interval system" that continuously shares location updates to a secure family cloud.

This system creates a detailed digital breadcrumb trail, allowing family members to monitor journeys in real-time and providing critical context in case of emergencies. Founder Okechukwu noted that current market solutions are often reactive, requiring user input during crises, which is frequently insufficient in contexts like Nigeria where transit safety is a daily concern.

The architecture of Live Intervals is designed for cost-efficiency while offering high-precision tracking without the heavy overhead typical of location-based services. While international apps like Life360 and bSafe dominate the global market, Live Intervals aims to refine its proactive approach specifically for the Nigerian environment.

According to the company, initial reception has been encouraging, with a significant number of device acquisitions and user engagement already recorded. Live Intervals plans to initially focus on the Nigerian market, but long-term goals include global expansion due to its unique proactive security methodology.
