Nikon updates NX Tether software to support Z50II and Z30

Nikon has launched version 2.6.1 of its NX Tether software, enabling live view functionality for Z50II and Z30 camera bodies. This update allows photographers to monitor their composition directly on a computer screen, a critical feature for product photography and studio workflows where precise framing is required.

The update also integrates 'Imaging Recipe' selection into the software's shooting panel for supported models. This addition enables users to switch between saved color and tone profiles directly from the desktop application, eliminating the need to navigate camera menus during a session. Further refinements include matching the autofocus point color on the computer display with the camera's viewfinder settings for better visual consistency.

To utilize these new features, users must ensure their camera firmware is updated to the latest version. Nikon maintains that a direct USB connection between the camera and the computer is essential for reliable performance, noting that third-party USB hubs may negatively impact data transfer stability.
