Nikon Z5IIC Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera Launched
Nikon has officially released the Z5IIC full-frame mirrorless camera, aiming to lower the barrier to entry for high-resolution photography with automated features. The camera will be available mid-October starting at $1,399.95.
Nikon has officially announced the Z5IIC full-frame mirrorless camera, a model designed to make high-resolution photography more accessible. The camera features a 24.5-megapixel full-frame back-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with Nikon's EXPEED 7 image processing engine. Weighing 620 grams, the camera body is constructed from a magnesium alloy and is available in black and silver finishes, offering dust and drip resistance.
Introducing a new feature for Nikon's full-frame mirrorless lineup, the Z5IIC includes 15 scene modes. These modes automatically optimize camera settings such as color, brightness, and white balance for various shooting scenarios, including portraits, pets, food, and nightscapes. Users can also quickly access and apply specific "imaging recipes" through a dedicated button.
The autofocus system utilizes deep learning algorithms to detect and track subjects like humans, dogs, cats, birds, and vehicles. It offers five-axis in-body image stabilization with up to 7.5 stops of compensation. The Z5IIC can capture continuous bursts at approximately 14 frames per second, and up to 30 fps with pre-shooting in High-Speed Frame Capture+ mode.
Video capabilities include 4K UHD at 60fps and Full HD at 120fps, along with 4x and 5x slow-motion options. The camera supports 10-bit H.265 MOV, N-Log, and N-RAW recording to SD cards. For content creators, the Z5IIC can function as a webcam when connected to a PC via USB, supporting UVC/UAC protocols for live streaming. Nikon states the "C" in Z5IIC stands for "casual," emphasizing its ease of use.
