Nintendo has provided additional details for its upcoming title, Fire Emblem: Echoes of Wisdom, which is scheduled to launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17. The game will follow the intertwined stories of four protagonists: Kai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda, with players able to advance their narratives concurrently.
The digital version of the game will be priced at 499 Hong Kong dollars (approximately $64 USD), and the physical edition will cost 549 Hong Kong dollars (approximately $70 USD). Gameplay mechanics will feature a variety of weapons, including swords, gauntlets, lances, axes, and bows, alongside magic. Weapon durability can be consumed to activate special abilities, while unique 'sacred flame' skills for each protagonist will consume HP. A rewind feature allows players to revert to previous turns if a character is defeated, aiming to make the game more accessible.
Characters are categorized into different classes, influencing their weapon proficiencies and movement ranges. Players can enhance their characters' attributes through training, purchasing equipment, and receiving divine blessings at temples. The game also incorporates a system for recruiting allies in the town of Tartarus, improving their trust, and triggering support conversations.
Each of the four protagonists possesses unique commands on the world map that can be utilized to bolster combat effectiveness. The game allows for the simultaneous progression of all four storylines, with each character's progress saved independently, offering a flexible play experience.
