Nintendo Announces Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Console and Pro Controller
Nintendo has revealed special editions of its Switch 2 handheld console and Pro Controller to commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. The products are set to launch on October 29.

Nintendo is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its renowned The Legend of Zelda series with the announcement of limited edition versions of the Switch 2 handheld console and its Pro Controller. These special editions will be available for purchase starting October 29.
The new releases are designed to honor four decades of the landmark gaming franchise. A special version of the Pro Controller, which includes a display stand, will be exclusively sold through Nintendo's official online store.
This is not Nintendo's first foray into themed console editions. The company has a history of releasing special versions of its handhelds to coincide with Zelda game launches. Past examples include a gold Game Boy Advance SP in 2004 for The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, and various themed Nintendo DS Lite and 3DS models.
Home console releases have also featured Zelda theming, such as a limited edition Wii U bundle for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. A special edition Switch OLED model was released for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and a gold Switch Lite launched earlier in 2024.
