Nintendo maintains current pricing strategy for upcoming Switch 2 hardware

Nintendo leadership stated during the company's latest quarterly earnings call that the current pricing for the forthcoming Switch 2 console remains fixed. President Shuntaro Furukawa noted that no additional price adjustments are under consideration, despite the console's earlier $50 price increase that established a $499 entry point.

The announcement follows a period of softening demand for Nintendo's hardware. The company reported a 37.4 percent year-over-year decline in sales, underscoring the challenges of maintaining momentum as the hardware lifecycle progresses toward its next iteration.

Addressing supply chain concerns, Furukawa stated that the firm has secured sufficient memory components for production. Despite broader industry fluctuations regarding semiconductor availability, Nintendo maintains that its current access to RAM is stable.

The company continues to manage production and supply logistics ahead of the transition to its next-generation hardware.
