Nintendo has launched a high-fidelity remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time exclusively for the Switch 2. The title is now available in major markets with pricing set at 449 HKD in Hong Kong.
Nintendo has released a revamped version of its classic title, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, exclusively for the Switch 2 console. Marking the 40th anniversary of the franchise, the release represents a comprehensive overhaul of the original 1998 Nintendo 64 game, focusing on modernized mechanics while maintaining the core structure of the original.
Developed by Nintendo’s internal EPD studio, the team implemented updated control schemes—such as manual jumping and gyro-aiming—while keeping the signature segmented world design. Despite suggestions to incorporate fast travel mechanics, developers opted to keep the original map structure to preserve the intentional pacing of exploration. Audio features have been expanded to include full voice acting for key characters, though the protagonist Link remains silent.
Early critical reception has been strong, with the game securing high scores on major aggregator sites like Metacritic. The title is currently available for purchase in both physical and digital formats across global storefronts.
